It struck me this morning that an awful lot of bands have written songs called “Closer”. A quick search through my MP3 archive reveals the following examples:
Dido (on Life For Rent)
NIN (on The Downward Spiral)
Lamb (on Lamb)
Lemon Jelly (on Lost Horizons)
Any others? The song title has to be exactly “Closer”. You can’t have “Move Closer” or “One Step Closer” or “The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get”.

Quite a few infact.
We also have a Mel C track called closer, but on cassette, so it didn’t come up in the MP3 archive search.
Joy Division had an album called Closer, though there isn’t a track of that name on it.
Lemon Jelly – Closer (Lost Horizons)
Low – Closer (Things We Lost in the Fire)
ohh they’re listed in musicbrainz… never mind (too pissed to care)
You could so the same with “Rain”

Crumbs. Good night out last night, Gordon?
You have Dido on mp3?
Yep. Our MP3 archive contains both No Angel and Life For Rent, though I definitely didn’t buy either of these albums, which I guess means that Karen did. We also have her cover of “Christmas Day”, and “I Eat Dinner” by Rufus Wainwright feat. Dido, from the Bridget Jones 2 soundtrack.

I go away for three days and get accused of owning Dido albums? I’ve never even listened to Life For Rent.
You act like you expected more of us.
I bet you owned Maria or Celion though. :-0
I own neither, and nor do I own anything by Mariah or Celine.
No Titanic album nestling in your collection.
