I’m not sure whether I should sit on this idea, because it’s really quite a good one. However, I doubt that there’s any money to be made out of it, so I’m just going to blurt it out instead.
What I think would be cool would be something a bit like Audioscrobbler, but for blog comments. That is, every time you comment on someone’s weblog, it is counted up, and ultimately we can see who writes the greatest number of comments, and on which sites, etc etc etc.

An Idea For The Lazyweb
It would be fun to track all the comments I have left over the blogosphere in the last 3 1/2 years.

Ok, so I’m a bit of a comment whore, but you still love me don’t you?
I think the idea is quite cool, but I can’t see how the implementation would be anything but a nightmare and not totally abused by the end of week one.
I think the greatest use it would have would be to keep track of the comment-conversations you’ve started, joined or unwittingly silenced.
I’d join.
Not pay necessarily, but still.
I’d pay good money – 17 or 18 pence, even – to read the very first comment I ever posted on a weblog. I suspect it was something incisive and witty and revealing like: “I think your blog’s ace. Can I link you?”
