Are you ready to order?

I know it’s early but it’s going to take us a while to get everything set up. We have borrowed a four de pizza and set ubotka to kneading dough. We’re looking forward to a busy and colourful pizza party this afternoon, so do please place your orders alongside your cocktail requests.

Service will be a little later than usual owing to me actually having a client to visit this afternoon.

  1. I like basil on pizza but in this case hit me up with it in my cocktail. I’ll have a Wild Hibiscus Embrace.

Pizza wise something along these ingredients will do “tomato, garlic, oregano, capers, olives, anchovies & mozzarella”. Slices with anchovies on is the least shared. Which is fine with me.

  2. I love anchovies, so I’ll just steal some of Adrian’s pizza. He won’t notice.

As the sun is shining and it is really rather pleasant in the HQ garden (sometimes, working with plants is just bloody fantastic) and I had a bit of a grilling in a heavy meeting with my business angels yesterday, can I have a gin and tonic, but very large and made with the ratio of gin to tonic that my beautiful wife uses (i.e. gin, gin, gin, gin, gin, gin, GIN, GIN, GIN, tonic, ice, slice).

    Please and thank you.

  3. I’ll be lounging in the sun with a nice cold margarita.

  4. As ever, I’m in the mood for a refreshing margarita, but let’s keep it savoury, so a cilantro-jalapeno margarita will be just fine.

And in terms of pizza, I’ll have as thin a crust as you can manage, with a little buffalo mozzarella, some good quality spicy pepperoni, salami and some pepperoncini. And pineapple. No, wait, no pineapple. No, damnit, sevitz and his ‘unlikely-anyone-will-want-to-want-to-share’ rule has inspired me. Add the pineapple. It’s MY pizza.

  5. I love pineapple on pizza. I’ll trade a slice with Anna if she likes an anchovies.

  6. Wow, I’ve just realised how appalling my typing in that comment was. Clearly typing sober is a terrible error. I’ll have a beer chaser for that margarita, and I’ll start on those now, please. You can bring another round with the food.

  7. After a week of delightfully new and inventive pizzas (you guys didn’t think #NPW was just virtual, did you?!) I would like to return to my beloved pizza margherita, my favorite pie. And since pizza is my very favorite food in the world, I have to pair it with my very favorite cocktail: a Negroni, on the rocks, with a twist of orange peel, please.

    Yum.

  8. I would like a celebratory Pollo ad Astra with a twist pizza and a huge celebratory bucket of fizzy wine with chambord and a raspberry in it, because wee dude slept through the night last night, in his own bed, for the first time ever, and that feels like enormous cause for celebration.

  9. Once upon a time in a place that I can’t recall, somewhere in Glasgow, I had the most delicious duck and hoisin pizza. I’d like that again please!

To wash it down I think something oriental, Sea Breeze please!

  10. Can I have the same pizza as Gordon, but with a lychee martini… or two? 🙂

  11. I’m going to be a total heathen and request a decent barbeque chicken pizza, please. No idea why I like them, but I do.

And to go with it? I think probably either something fun with pepper vodka, or similar. I’m being really hard-to-please today, obviously.

    Thanks!

  12. It’s sunny and wonderful outside so a simple white wine for me, a Sancerre for preference, and I’ll have a slice of standard white pizza, super thin crust also, with a pinch of cotija.

  13. Thin crust, goat’s cheese, black olive, pesto and sun dried tomato please. Since the weather’s been summerlike this week, I’d like a Negroni to go with it.
