Karen isn’t fiendishly devilishly good at Monopoly.
I think this is the first time that I’ve ever managed to win a game with just one complete group of properties. Karen managed to get round the board first, and bought pretty much one property in each group. I got the reds. Those are my hotels. They tore her apart.

(That’s bizarre. I’m so unused to commenting these days that I initially typed in my password in the URL box once I’d entered my email address. And I’m not entirely sure what I was trying to sign into.)
I can do better than that, though. I managed to bankrupt my brother once when I owned only the brown group (that’s the cheapest btw, to the best of my memory hotels on those squares net you
What pieces do you play as?
You’re lucky you weren’t playing with my monopoly set; it has chance and community chest cards that say things like “Karen receives
In bygone years, my brother and I had a set of Monopoly rules called Mad Monopoly, which allowed, amongst other things, more houses to be built after you had purchased hotels. I should think those extra Community Chest cards would fit in nicely.
Dan, I played with the car last night, though I often play as the ocean liner. Karen played with the terrier, though claimed it was a kitten.
Her strategy is to buy the brown ones up as well. Which would be okay, if it worked once in a while.
That wasn’t a strategy, that was a coincidence.
Here’s a lesson in not reading comments too quickly. I misunderstood “played with the car last night” as meaning that you played Monopoly with the car because nobody else would play with you. And the car won. Or something. Sorry. Brain hurts.
Yes, and thanks to you, so does mine.
Joke.
