Recommended Firefox Extension

This is a most worthy extension for Firefox, and definitely worth having installed for those occasions when you may need it. It allows you to grab hold of the bottom, right, or bottom-right of any textarea and drag it to your preferred size.
Resizable Text Area (or a direct link to the xpi, if you trust me)
UPDATE: Another few extensions that I strongly recommend are AdBlock, WebmailCompose (for users of webmail) and Slim Extension List (for users with more than half a dozen extensions). All homes should have them.

  1. Oh yes, handy one that.
Mind you I’m trying to cut down on the number of extensions I have installed as Firefox does begin to slow when it’s loading them..

  2. I suppose it depends upon what extensions you have. I run about 10, both at home (GNU/Linux) and at work (Windows Server 2003) and I’ve never noticed a difference.

  3. The two I use:
DownTHEMAll, an easy way of downloading a mass of files from the links on one webpage. Useful for mp3s.
Forecastfox, a weather forecast even more, er, accurate than the BBC’s 5 day forecast.

  4. I have DownTHEMall as well. Oh, and when you write “mp3s”, we all know what you mean.
    Nudge nudge.

  5. DownTHEMall is very useful for downloading loads of academic journals at the same time. Oh yes. And, er, MP3s. I’ll stop now.
