Uborka! Running Club

I spent half term week in the Lake District running in the fresh air, as well as doing some walks (usually quite short, with child and mobility scooter in the party), and one glorious row on Coniston.

I like the idea of grabbing a “souvenir” run wherever I go, and RunKeeper, despite its foibles, is pretty good for that with the snapshot facility.

Where are the most beautiful places you have run? And what have you been up to in the last couple of weeks?

p.s. In America, it’s National Running Day, but here in the UK it’s a rest day.

Salad Days

How do you people feel about eating healthy food? I thought it might be helpful to share salad suggestions.

Last week we were on holiday with my mum, who still insists that salad = lettuce (the greenest sort), tomato and cucumber, with salad cream on the side. I am not so sure.

Uborka! Fitness Club

What have you all been up to? I have expanded my repertoire to become one of those housewives who does aerobics in the sitting room, while being exhorted to smile by some ridiculously flat-bellied muscular twenty-something on my TV screen.

I also set a new personal best 10k time on Sunday, and discovered that compression calf sleeves do seem to alleviate the night-time muscle pain. However, I only have one data point, and more research is needed.

The sun is out at last; time to get some fresh air!

We are having a smart early-summer barbecue, or Garden Party if you will. It’s May so the weather isn’t guaranteed, which is a euphemism for “it looks nice now but it’s going to piss it down later.”

What are you eating and drinking and wearing to the party?
